2. How many times a week do you hear/read about the heroic act of an American soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan?
3. Why do you think the media does not appear to make an effort to find these good news stories?

How many Americans can name one American hero from the war on terror?
During WWII and for years thereafter, I daresay virtually every American from school-age up knew of Audie Murphy and other war heroes. But while the [media] has spent incalculable resources informing Americans and the world about Abu Ghraib and Haditha, how often have [they] told us about the new generation of heroes among our people serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere? I believe that muslim extremists believe that they should make the entire world Islamic. Some people might say that I’m being paranoid. Some might same I’m racist. Others say I’m right on. I know some muslims. They are moderate in their views. They are happy to let me be a Christian and exercise my religion. By the same token, they want to be left to practice theirs. Sounds about right, doesn’t it?
Here’s where I think a problem exists, not just with those muslims I know, but all moderate muslims. When is the last time you saw a news report where anyone that’s muslim, be they your average Joe or a respected imam, condemn the atrocities that are perpetrated by muslim extremists? I’m betting you have never seen this. Why is that? It could be because the MSM doesn’t want you to see it, but I doubt it. It’d be a huge story if it ever happened. No, it’s because no matter what happens, moderate muslims win either way. If the powers that be (I hesitate to say “the West” as it’s not inclusive enough) continue to press and we stamp out all the extremists until we have only peace loving muslims, they win. They continue to enjoy the freedom that is afforded by living in a democracy. If we give up the fight or we lose the fight against Islamic terror and extremism, everyone will be forced to convert to Islam or die. That’s what they do. Assimilate or be eliminated. If this happens, guess what. The moderate muslims were already in the religion. They just have their women put on the burkas instead of the western clothes with a head cloth and have them walk a couple of paces behind. Of course, the women won’t be able to go anywhere on their own anymore. They’ll have to be escorted. But I digress. The point is, they can just sit back and wait to see the outcome. In some cases moderate muslims may feel pressured to show favoritism to the extremist side of the conflict. But this will only happen if it looks like the extremists are winning. Because they don’t want to appear to appease the infidels. If they do that, then they are infidels as well and the extremists might kill them.
