I ask myself that question at least a couple of times each day. Some Americans are so enthralled by the fact that they don’t have Bush in office anymore that they just don’t care what’s going on. Anything has to be better than when Bush was in office, right? Wrong. The economy has gotten worse. Unemployment continues to rise. The administration is going to install a cap and trade system on carbon emissions that will, in effect, be the most oppresive tax on middle and low income Americans that they have probably ever seen. There are plans to change the entire global monetary system and our government is going to lead the way on it. Read more…
I can’t take credit for this, but I thought it funny and scarily appropriate.
Confused About All The ‘isms Being Thrown Around? No Longer…Here’s Your Handy Guide:
Traditional Capitalism
You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull. Your herd multiplies, and the economy grows. You sell the herd and retire on the income. Read more…
I read an article today that says that the Treasury Department (TD, but read Tim Geithner) is seeking to be given the power to “seize large insurers, investment firms and hedge funds, leaping beyond its present authority to seize only banks.” What are we doing, America!? Why are we letting the executive branch of our government have so much power? Why is the legislative branch not checking this power grab? Probably because the legislative branch is dominated by Democrats who are blindly following the anointed one. It appears that they might, just might be waking up a bit. There are some small signs of intelligent life in the Congress. If we (the people, not Congress) allow this power grab to happen, where does it stop? Can the government seize General Electric if their lending arm, GE Capital is having problems? I think that’s what you’ll see. The TD will interpret this however it likes and any publicly traded company will be able to be grabbed up by the TD. Why are we letting this, along with all the other heinous things, happen? Do we not elect these officials into office? Are they not listening to us now? If that’s the case, we need to get rid of them when we can, starting with Congress in 2010. Controlling business is just a start. And if you think they won’t go after privately held businesses if we let them get away with controlling public companies, you’re a moron. Read more…

I saw this link on a news website and it just blew me away. We have got to get a handle on the spendocrats. This is truly awesome in a holy crap sort of way. It definitely puts it in perspective.

I have to say that Rush Limbaugh did not do a very good job of articulating his stand on whether he wants President Obama to succeed or fail. However, if you look past the bad superbowl analogy and get to the substance of his statements, I agree with him. I don’t want our President to succeed in taking us to socialism either.
It was a day or so after that gaff on stage by Limbaugh that I was listening to him on the radio. He was still in “explain” mode, trying to convey what he really meant with his comments at the conservative convention when he made a statement that really rang true to me. He said and I paraphrase because I don’t think I can directly quote him, but he said that conservatives are not racist. They want EVERYONE to succeed. I agree with that. I think that everyone should succeed. However, the part that the left seems to forget is that one has to work at it if they are going to succeed. You can not have success, at least as it’s defined by most people, if you sit on the bench and don’t get in the game. I don’t care what color you are, whether you like the same sex, what religion you are. It doesn’t matter. If you won’t work hard to succeed, you won’t. Now if your definition of success is getting paid to do as little as possible. Stay with or join the Democrat party. They will help you succeed.
The basic difference between the two political parties as it pertains to success is: The liberals believe that the outcome should be the same for all people. Conservatives believe that the opportunity should be the same for everyone. In other words, it’s what you make of your opportunities that will define how successful you are.
A note to the President –
President Obama, please, stop helping the economy!! Every time you open your mouth, the DOW takes a plunge. Every thing you are doing is making the economy tank. Signed -headed for the low-income (hopefully not the no-income) roles.
Unfortunately, I am saddled with this President along with everyone else. Truly, since he has started in office, and continually spews on and on about the *crisis* we’re in, he helps not one bit. The Dems have siezed this crisis opportunity to drive their agenda. At what point will the American people say, STOP! I find it extremely hard to believe that a majority of the American people still think what the Obama administration is orchestrating is a good thing. Shame on Congress for following so blindly. And triple shame on those so-called Republican senators that crossed the aisle and passed that monstrosity of a spendulus package. I think they may be done in Congress come next election. One can only hope.
Really. Can’t we just all take a time out. How about leaving the economy alone for a while and see if it settles down. This whole thing is out of control. And the libs love it this way. As long as it is seemingly out of control, the American people believe that drastic measures must be taken. But these drastic measure are HURTING, not helping!!! STOP!!!! STOP!!!! STOP!!!!
Here’s a great article from the Wall Street Journal.
